What we don't.
We built ScrollBuddy because we think attention is sacred. We treat your data the same way.
- Raw Screen Time data lives on your phone — Apple's framework doesn't stream it to us. We only see the daily totals and requests you generate inside our app.
- We store your unlock requests, because otherwise the person helping you can't answer them.
- We store daily usage totals — minutes per blocked app, per day — for your streaks and progress view. If you've paired with a partner, they see these totals too. That's the accountability.
- We don't sell data. Not to ads, not to anyone.
- You can delete it all — in-app or by email. Wiped the moment you confirm.
What we collect
Your email and name — to create your account and connect you with a partner.
Unlock requests — the app you asked about, the time, whether it was approved. Your partner sees this because that's the whole point.
Daily usage totals — for each app you've chosen to track, minutes spent that day and how many unlock requests you made. Powers your streaks and the progress view. If you have a partner, they can see these totals too — that's the accountability.
Device and notification info — iOS version, app version, a push notification token, and a device identifier derived from your device name. Used to send partner-response notifications and debug crashes — nothing else.
What we don't collect
What's on your screen. Your messages. Your photos. Your contacts. Your location. Your browsing history. Any app you haven't explicitly added as a blocker stays invisible to us.
Who we share with
Your partner sees your requests — that's the product. Apple gets crash reports if the app crashes. That's it. No advertisers. No data brokers. No "partners."
Your rights
Delete your account — Settings → Account → Delete Account, or email us. Everything tied to your account is wiped the moment you confirm.
Export your data — Ask and we'll send it in a portable format.
Opt out — Turn off notifications or disconnect from your partner, any time.
Changes
If we change this, the date at the top moves and we tell you in the app or by email. We won't quietly widen what we collect.
